Books - The Gateway Drug to a Great Imagination

In honour of National Read a Book Day, here is a compilation of all the libraries across Canada that have been enjoyed throughout this journey.

I have such a love for books, and thankfully my daughter has also loved the feel of a good book or two. I used to find her curled up with about 10 books at a time, half hazardous around the house.

From a young age, she could happily get lost in the pages of a good story, and watching that love of reading grow has been one of our favourite things.

So it only seems fitting that on this Cross-Canada adventure, libraries have become some of our favourite stops along the way.

No matter what town we’re passing through, if there’s a library, chances are we’re stopping in. We’ve wandered through beautiful old libraries, discovered little community gems, browsed shelves in places we’ve never been, and, of course, picked out a few books along the way.

While stuck in Yellowknife without a muffler, in -28° weather, the local library was a hotspot for us. We learned we could check out games, and spent many hours playing new and exciting board games!

This trip has been about seeing Canada, but thanks to her love of reading, we’re also getting to experience it one library at a time ❤️.

Here’s to books, libraries, little readers, and all the adventures that can be found both on the road and between the pages.
