Chetwynd - A full Circle Mosaic Moment

Chetwynd, B.C.
I can remember the very first chainsaw carving competition here. And how a few carvings turned into so many over the years, and how this little town became the chainsaw capital of the world.

The cute little town in Northern BC, where I lived for about a decade and where my Blue Frogs Legs Art Studio was actually born.

Honestly, so surreal being here, it feels like almost visiting a place in a movie I starred in — if that makes any sense at all!!

This is where school me, became adult me. Where I bought my very first house, where I built my very first art studio. Where I became a mother.

Throughout my life, Art has woven into the background and foreground of my life. In a very real way, this was one of the first times where Art became the foreground for a short little while.

Forestry had brought me here, but the landscape and the people kept me here. And my art is what I found here. A little full circle moment if you will.

Where I had my first ever solo art gallery show at the Dawson Creek Art Gallery.  Where I taught art, and started to really explore myself as an artist.

In Chetwynd, I was hired to teach mosaics in the high school art class.
Upon finding them when I drove in here, it was just crazy to think that little pieces of me were still here. I had even totally forgotten about this mosaiced blue frog I had done.

Life sure is crazy, but when you celebrate the amazing things, you also celebrate all those other things that brought you on this journey .

Revisiting the spaces of my past, has made me so extra excited about my future, and I am definitely up for this wild ride…
